Our low vision occupational therapist, the only one in Nevada, can help you enjoy a safe, comfortable, independent life with vision loss, after a stroke, or with other medical conditions or diseases. Following a doctor’s prescription, our occupational therapist can help with:
- Learn to overcome loss of vision with magnifying vision aids, featuring one on one instruction, on how to apply them to your life
- Learning to use adaptive devices in daily activities
- Tips for improving lighting, contrast, glare control, and ergonomics in your home
- Using new grooming and dressing techniques
- Ways to continue participating in leisure activities
- Using memory books and other devices to aid memory
- Identifying fall hazards in your home
- Seating evaluation and wheelchair prescription

- We run a full service Optometric and Low Vision Clinic, dedicated to diagnosing and treating eye disease as well as providing comprehensive low vision services to people with visual impairment. These services include refraction and evaluation of low vision devices to enable patients with sight loss to maximize their residual vision.

What enables our low vision services to help so many patients is the passion and expertise that is offered by our very own Sandy Yesnick. After the patient has been evaluated, they will undergo training with Sandy which will include utilizing their low vision aid, lighting, and regular day-to-day living tips. The wealth of information and expertise during these sessions is one of the reasons for our success.
